Welcoming Harry Luo, Our New Senior Associate

Harry Luo - Reach Capital
June 15, 2026

We’re excited to welcome Harry Luo to Reach as our newest Senior Associate!

Harry joined us at the end of May and will focus on AI-native companies across learning, health and work: sourcing deals, leading technical diligence, and supporting the technical founders already in our portfolio and the others headed there. A builder at heart, he is also creating internal tools to help the firm scale how we find and support AI founders.

The best way to introduce Harry is to share how he got the job. Midway through our interview process, he built a repo of AI agent skills focused on technical due diligence, overnight and unprompted, along with sample diligence reports on three of our portfolio companies. Upon trying them on a live deal we were evaluating, the output got most of the way to a credible memo that informed our investment decision. One of his first projects at Reach will be to turn that repo into firm-wide infrastructure. We spend a lot of time assessing agency in founders. It’s rarer to see a candidate simply embody it.

Harry comes to us from Google, where he spent nearly six years as a software engineer. Most recently he built agent-based features for Search’s Discover and AI Mode; before that he spent four years on Play Search working on recommendations, ranking and retrieval. He also carved out a 20% role as a product manager on Google’s AI research team, working on on-device AI strategy. He has shipped production AI at billion-user scale with deep empathy for users and their experiences, which is exactly the profile we want across the table from technical founders.

He was building well before Google. At the University of Kansas, where he studied computer science, he founded HackKU, the university’s hackathon, and grew it 400%. He co-founded Applican.AI, a student-internship matching platform that landed pilots with a dozen companies. He’s also an angel investor and still ships side projects on weekends.

Like many on the Reach team, Harry has plenty of interests beyond work. He plays volleyball and tennis, shoots Fujifilm cameras, and is building a Japanese City Pop vinyl collection (he is actively soliciting recommendations). His favorite book is The Alchemist.

If you’re a founder building something AI-native in learning, health or work, Harry wants to hear from you: harry@reachcapital.com.
