Title: Marketing Associate – Full Time
Location: Bay Area – San Francisco
Start Timing: ASAP

Do you love telling stories and building communities? Are you curious about the future of learning and inspired by founders building innovative solutions? Do you excel at deep creative work while staying organized and keeping meticulous attention to detail?

Reach Capital is the most active early-stage venture capital firm in education and work, backing over 100 companies across four core funds. We are looking for an exceptional Marketing Associate to expand the reach (pun intended) and impact of our content and programming. Our team regularly organizes events and publishes news, perspectives and reports in service of our portfolio companies and the broader education technology ecosystem. (Read our latest news here.)

This position is a hybrid work environment with 2-3 days/week in-office work at our San Francisco headquarter. Reporting to the Head of Platform, the Marketing Associate will play a pivotal role in the production and management of our content and community programming.

Key responsibilities:
  • Produce and distribute blog posts, newsletters, reports, videos and other assets that support Reach thought leadership and our portfolio companies.
  • Manage end-to-end social media operations, from content creation and publishing to engagement tracking on channels including LinkedIn and Instagram. Post new articles, job opportunities, events, portfolio highlights and other updates.
  • Manage communications for Reach programming and events. These include online webinars (“AMAs”), in-person events, sponsored hackathons and networking mixers.
  • Help manage our events and publishing calendars.
  • Promote the Reach team and brand through identifying speaking engagements, award submissions, and other marketing opportunities
  • Maintain updates to our website and our resource library for founders (“ReachIn”).
  • Maintain a central hub of marketing assets to ensure the entire team has easy access to materials.
  • Research and evaluate new marketing and communications tools and platforms.
  • Build, segment, and oversee a CRM of Reach’s community to identify prospects and ideas for Reach content and programming, pull together one-off lists for events, and potentially make valuable intros for portfolio companies.
The ideal candidate will:
  • Demonstrate an ability to write confidently and tell compelling stories for a diverse audience; experience with education, tech, startups and capital markets a plus
  • Love creating written and audiovisual content. It’s preferable that you have experience in writing (as part of your classes or in a previous job). Plus: a personal blog, newsletter, active social media accounts, etc.
  • Possess strong communication skills: verbal, written, and visual (presentations, graphics, etc). You have the ability to synthesize content and extract the most important aspects of articles, podcasts, videos and social media posts for a specific audience.
  • Have a superb eye for design, detail and style.
  • Know how to use creative/design software (i.e. Canva, Figma, Creative Suite) and project management tools (i.e. Airtable, Notion)
  • Understand best practices in branding and marketing.
  • Have strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to simultaneously keep track of multiple projects, deadlines and projects.
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity and take initiative as needed in a fast-paced environment.
